Here are some Open House tips for you when selling your home on your own:
1. Write an ad that is effective with clear directions. Call your local newspaper's classified department at least two weeks in advance to order your open house ad. Don't forget to post it on the web (craigslist, facebook, twitter, etc).
2. Make sure your house is "market ready". Remember - Curb appeal is just as important as what's on the inside of your home.
3. Safety First! Keep Stairways clear. Avoid possible injuries and litigation. Also, escort all prospects through your home. Put all valuables in a safe place.
4. Keep it Light and Bright! Turn on ALL lights. Open ALL drapes.
Remember, as a FSBO, YOU are in control of what happens on your Open House. Take action. You will get out of it what you put into it.
